Ridiculously expensive. An entry level Swarovski starts at about $1700 and really good birding scopes can get into the $3K - $4K range quickly.Conversely, cheap scopes are pretty bad. Most in the <$300 range are not much more than toy quality, and there aren't many scopes worth considering below about $800. OK... so the money part aside, I was a little leery of giving Leupold's Green-Ring series a try since it had no reviews and is made in China (per Leupold's customer service). After all the analysis paralysis though, I'm glad I did. I've decided this may be one of your best options in its price range. Let's get right to the important part: the optics are BRIGHT. I was really surprised about how bright and clear they are. I compared this side-by-side with a Barska 20-60x60 scope, and the difference is apparent immediately.
